Due to aggressive new business development on a global scale our client requires CAD Designers working in a professional, forward thinking organisation. The department you will be working in provides engineered boiler solutions, including low NOx burners, biomass co-firing, boiler control systems and plant upgrades, for utility and industrial boilers.
The CAD services department produces drawings for company and International standards, following a project through from the tendering stage into its project execution. Activities include producing layout, general arrangement and detail drawings of all types of equipment relevant to the company's business. These topics include, but are not restricted to, burners, oil guns, ducting, steelwork, pipe work and P & IDs.
Reporting to the product design section Leader, the successful candidate will be responsible for producing drawings, suitable for manufacture, quickly and accurately from the relevant Project data sheets, liaising with the design department to fully interpret their needs.
Essentially the successful candidate will:-
* Have draughting experience in a mechanical engineering environment.
* Preferably have several years experience working with Solidedge 3D CAD software.
* Have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
* Have good interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
* Be able to work on their own initiative and as part of a small CAD team.
* Have a clean driving licence.
* Probably be educated to HNC level in an engineering or related discipline.
The post will be based in the East Midlands, although the company's work involves projects in the UK and overseas. The successful candidate will be expected to undertake site visits both in the UK and overseas in order to gather further information relevant to their drawing activities.
