Actuary / Client Relationship Manager

Aon in either Edinburgh or Glasgow are currently seeking a Qualified Pensions Actuary who has post qualification experience managing their own portfolio of clients as a scheme actuary and client manager. This is a pivotal role and you will have a proven track record in delivering effective client service. You will be responsible for maintaining and growing client income, this will be achieved by the identification and creation of new sales opportunities within client portfolios.
Relationship management with each client is key to this role. You will need a full understanding of their business, by meeting and communicating regularly and demonstrating an in-depth understanding of their requirements.

We are offering a competitive annual salary commensurate with experience + Discretional bonus + Car allowance and Flexible benefits package. 25 days holiday and you will have the option to increase this to 30 days in an attractive flexible benefits package

To participate in a continuous professional and personal development including keeping abreast of statutory obligations and relevant FSA guidelines and legislation

Satisfy Aon Compliance criteria

- Key relationship owner for each client within portfolio.
- Build strong relationships Conduct an effective client entertainment programme.
- Maintain development plans for each client.
- Manage an active 'at risk' register, and take action where appropriate.
- Liaise closely with the Team Leaders and their teams and influence delivery to ensure that client commitments are met.
- Responsible for the prompt escalation of issues eg retention challenges, to CRD.
- Monitor regularly levels of client fees and profitability, and lead discussions to renegotiate fees where appropriate.
- Demonstrate a full understanding of Aon Consulting offerings, to maximise cross selling opportunities and champion new propositions.
- Work with Business development teams to deliver new services/new clients to the business
-Motivate the internal client team, keeping them updated on developments, providing feedback following discussions, and involving others in identifying service improvements where appropriate.


Good understanding of Employee Benefits/ occupational pension provision.
Exposure to service delivery and client management.
Relevant industry knowledge and or consulting knowledge coupled with sound technical capability.
Excellent working knowledge of the current legislation surrounding the industry and forthcoming changes and appreciation of the impact new legislation will have on the industry.
Knowledge and understanding of Business Financials
Experience/track record in relationship management and client service delivery.
