JUNIOR FAMILY SOLICITOR/LEGAL EXECUTIVE
(Minimum 1 year's experience of Family work)

Due to our success in the latest Legal Services Commission bid round, we are now expanding our services to include Family Law and are recruiting for a Legal Executive / Junior Solicitor to join our new team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced legal executive / junior solicitor candidate to work as part of a dynamic team to develop a new Family Legal Aid Department for our organisation.

The new Family Department will form part of an integrated social welfare service for the local community and the new Family staff will have the advantage of having legal experts on hand in our other Departments to cover areas of law often associated with Family Law.

The new service will be based at our Northampton Advice Centre and will include outreach in the County in partnership with other organisations.

This post is full-time (35hours per week). An essential car allowance and parking costs are payable as these posts require travel to outreach venues in the County. The Service has a flexible working policy and 26 days holiday in addition to Bank Holidays.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate experience of a full range of family law services including: divorce, family disputes, children disputes, financial disputes and domestic violence.

The Service is the leading Not for Profit provider of Legal Aid services in Northamptonshire in the fields of welfare benefits, debt, housing and immigration. In 2007/8 we provided advice and representation to 2,956 clients under Legal Aid. The Service employs 44 paid staff and in addition to our Legal Aid work we provide a wide range of social welfare law services funded from other sources including 4 local authorities and the DTI.
