New office & therefore new role, looking for an experienced Design manager with excellent knowledge of SAP who has had experience in a Start up environment with remit to hire aggressively. Strong 3rd party Vendor interaction and off shoring skills required on top of both people and programme management. Annual turnover of £15M, full budget & PnL responsibility.

The company is currently going through a transformation of Global Services which involves deploying a number of end-market solutions onto shared regional platforms. IT has been called upon to establish a global solution delivery line to ensure all new initiatives deliver to expectations with an improved awareness of the risks involved.

Role / Challenge
This opportunity, based in the centre of Madrid requires a Solutions/Design Manager to head up all solution Design activities whilst working in conjunction with other Global managers. The remit breaks down into three principal areas;
a)Delivery Assurance (Project/Programme /Implementation Management)
b)Support of Global Design teams (Management, Coaching, Mentoring)
c)PnL (Balancing Cost/Income, rate cards, targets, right-sizing)
With around 25 direct reports and responsibility for annual turnover of around £15 million, this role not only encompasses the more operational responsibilities but also has strong managerial, leadership & relationship challenges.

Individual
Having been degree educated, you'll also have strong experience in delivering IT solutions whilst displaying strong career progression, excellent line management capabilities & strong technical product knowledge. There is a strong requirement for cross-functional knowledge of applications such as; Oracle, SAP (portal), & integration technologies such as MQ series, Skyway, Hand-held, SAP BW, Domino & Cognos. In Addition, you will need a broad knowledge of SAP R3 (APO, HR, SRM, Finance, Siebel, Swift, CRM etc).

You will be familiar with complex operational environments, with joined up management, onshore/offshore capabilities & should be able to display excellent project management skills. Whilst speaking fluent Spanish would be a significant advantage, this is by no means a prerequisite. My client would be happy to contribute significantly to the relocation & settlement costs that might be required.
