We are a recruitment agency and we are looking for a Mechanical Fitter for our client`s Rugby service workshop whoose broad portfolio ranges from manufacture of bespoke steam turbine retrofits to rapid response overhauls of steam and gas turbine components. We have a vacancy for a Mechanical Fitter to undertake a full range of craft based activities for turbine service work.


Main duties and responsibilities include:

Fitting, machining, welding and associated craft based activities for all aspects of turbine service work to achieve on time delivery of orders
Direct application of craft and fitting skills to achieve customer satisfaction in turbine service work
Keeping work areas clean, tidy and organised within a standardised culture and environment
Maintaining a safe working environment including contributing to risk assessments and generation of method statements
Participating in workshop process improvement activities
Participating in operation investigations and helping to resolve issues at root cause preventing reoccurrence



Applicants should have served a recognised engineering apprenticeship and be qualified to ONC/NVQ3 level; have experience of turbine control gear refurbishment including electro-mechanical, hydraulics, general fitting and inspection techniques; possess steam turbine product knowledge and be customer focussed. Experience of cylinder build, lifting techniques and machining would be an advantage. Candidates should be prepared to travel to and work at our customers sites in the UK and overseas.
