We are a recruitment agency and our client is looking for an experienced Design Engineer/Servicfe Engineer. the client has dual roles: as a Local Service Centre (LSC) providing integrated solutions for power plant operators across the UK and as a Service Execution Centre (SEC) supporting our installed fleet of impulse turbines and generators around the world.


The role of the Steam Turbine SEC (STST) at Rugby is to sell upgrades and noble parts; provide technical support and supervision worldwide; to perform plant technology assessments including technical consultancy and product training; to develop products to bring to market, and to take contract and execution responsibility and assure risk management for the technology.

Within the Service Engineering section we have a vacancy for a Design Engineer to provide design engineering support to all aspects of the service business for steam turbines and associated systems.

Main duties and responsibilities include:

Providing engineering support for the workshop overhaul activities to ensure that components are refurbished correctly and returned to service safely and reliably
Supporting on-site activities to ensure that machines are correctly, safely and reliably returned to service
Responding to customer`s queries and problems to the customer`s full satisfaction
Providing technical input to spares enquiries and orders to ensure that the correct components to the latest design are used and to ensure quality control
Maintenance of engineering records
Supporting the generation of design improvements for the benefit of customers


Candidates should be qualified to degree level in mechanical engineering; have a good general knowledge of steam turbine theory, design, manufacturing, operation and maintenance activities; be computer literate; possess good interpersonal and written and oral communication skills and be able to take initiative.
