Circa £25-26,000 basic + PAID OVERTIME + excellent bens (inc. high contribution pension scheme)

Hours of work - 8:30 - 4:45 pm Monday - Thursday
Friday finish at 4:15 pm (37 hour week)

As a result of continued market success, an opportunity has arisen for a mechanically based engineer to undertake an autonomous manufacturing support role.

The organisation employs in excess of 100 staff and is part of a world leading defense company, with net growth of 22% each year over the last 3 years. The company operates a transparent promotional track allowing progressive individuals to follow a formal career growth path.

The position will be varied and encompass:

Setting machines for production
Analysing and fault finding machine breakdowns to establish root cause and setting any preventative actions
Design and manufacture of jigs and fixtures to aid production
Driving forward continuous improvement activities on both new and existing machines and tooling to reduce cost, cycle times and operator intervention whilst increasing repeatability.
Providing technical support, mentoring and training to manufacturing personnel on all aspects of machines and associated tooling.

The role is expected to grow with the individual and as such will suit an apprentice trained / HNC+ or City & Guilds qualified individual in a mechanical discipline with the ability to project manage their own workload in a fast paced semi-automated manufacturing environment. Proven mechanical manufacturing biased background (including simple automation) coupled with fault finding and maintenance principals essential. Working knowledge of PLC controlled equipment ideal.
