Cattrell Hudson are looking for a Development / Software Engineer (Matlab, Simulink, dspace, stateflow) to work on site with one of their customers.
The main focus of the role will be Hybrid Electric vehicles, on the development of the Electrical/Electronic aspects of a climate control system, the transfer functions to occupant comfort, and the validation methods.
A primary target of the project work: is the delivery of a range of benefits such as improved fuel economy whilst maintaining occupant thermal comfort.
Electric A/C will be the first major Climate control component implemented to hybrid vehicles.
The candidate will work within the Research department responsible for the generation of new technologies associated with high voltage hybrid components and systems for Climate control. Development of a fully operating system is required to demonstrate technologies in preparation for programme implementation. The development of hybrid systems will be guided by technology development procedures which takes new technologies through several evidence based delivery gateways.
This is a multi-disciplinary role. The project encompasses aspects of system conceptual design, requirements capture, system specification, mechanical, electrical and software integration, vehicle integration, functional verification, and feature solution validation.
The candidate will be expected to contribute to and participate in liaison meetings with a range of departments across the client.

A good Engineering degree is required, together with several years experience in relevant posts.
The candidate must be able to demonstrate in depth experience in the following areas:
HeVAC / Climate control systems.
Electrical and electronic hardware design.
MATLAB, SIMULINK, STATEFLOW and dSpace.
Electronic and Software prototyping.
