Operations Director (Energy / Power Prime Contractor)

Amazing opportunity for a senior level and experienced Operations Director with a background in main/prime contract engineering companies to the Power Sector to head up Operations for the business.

THE CANDIDATE:
Operations Director (Energy / Power Prime Contractor)
KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE:
* Experience working for main/prime contractors in the Engineering Industry as opposed to working on the client/ customer side of the industry.
* In depth knowledge of the Power market covering coal, gas, CCGT and nuclear generation - candidate MUST have strong experience specifically within the Power sector to be considered.
* Wind and hydro knowledge and experience is also desirable.
* Previously responsible for Budgeting and P&L accountability (this role is part of a £140M / 1000+ employee division).
* Good operations and BD background with commercial acumen.
* Strong relationship with key people within operating organisations and seen as being a respected/well known person within this arena.
* In depth knowledge of the supply chain including relationships with key individuals.
* Excellent communication skills in formal presentations and reporting.
* Experienced in contractual negotiations.
* Proven track record in securing and delivering asset support portfolio.
* Excellent health and safety culture.

THE ROLE:
Operations Director (Energy / Power Prime Contractor)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Influencing and implementation of the Company's business strategy.
* Lever existing relationships and develop new ones to secure business in line with strategy.
* Establish working relationships with selected supply chain members and together win and deliver portfolio.
* Assist with identification and securing investment targets and delivering value by their integration into the business.
* Grow a sustainable and profitable market share of the generating opportunities.
* Embrace and enhance the Company's exemplary health and safety culture.
OVERVIEW:
* Operations Director with experience working with main/prime engineering companies coupled with a strong background within the Power industry (coal, gas, CCGT and nuclear generation, wind, hydro etc) required to lead our client's business strategy in the expanding Power market. You will have extensive experience with prior P&L responsibility and operate at senior levels of management and with key players in the sector.
* You will be an astute, resourceful Operations Director and work within the Asset Support operating unit of our clients business. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations, this is your chance to bring your extensive industry knowledge to the asset support business, as well as take a lead role in developing market entry strategy, direction and implementation.
