Skills for Health is the Sector Skills Council for the UK health sector. Our purpose is to help the whole sector develop solutions that deliver a skilled and flexible UK workforce in order to improve health and healthcare. The health sector employs approximately 2 million people across the UK within the National Health Services, independent healthcare providers and voluntary organisations.
You will provide the efficient delivery of the Directorate's operational programmes in relation to Extending Participation. Widening Participation is the component of the Extending Participation strategy which seeks to promote and facilitate improved access to learning across the health sector in England.
With substantial knowledge of the widening participation and skills agendas and the national agenda for young people, you will establish a high profile national panel for Widening Participation and take forward key areas of the Widening Participation Strategy and Business Plan.
You will also have highly developed communications skills and the ability to assimilate and handle sensitive and complex information, in order to develop and manage the programmes in relation to adult and youth Widening Participation agendas.
