Question

How do I edit a 'Jobs-By-Twitter' search?

Answer

If you wish to change your search string criteria (keywords, location, salary etc):

  1. Login to your Twitter account
  2. Click on 'Direct Messages'
  3. Send a Direct Message to 'Jobsitejobs' with only the word 'edit' in the text box
  4. We'll then send a new Direct Message to your Twitter account within 5 minutes
  5. Click the link in the email from us to edit your job alerts

Advice:

Here are some helpful hints for setting up a search:

  • Use speech marks around full job titles, such as "Project Manager", so that they are searched as a phrase and not two individual words
  • Avoid using - (dash) or / (slash) between keywords. Only use commas
  • If you're looking for a role that may be known by two or more job titles, separate them with commas in the keyword section e.g. secretary, pa, "personal assistant"
  • Avoid using words like 'anywhere' in the location filter, as this is not specific enough. Type in the town, county or the first part of the postcode where you're looking for work and you'll get better results

If you want to test to see if your search string is working as you want it to, click on 'Update sample jobs' and you'll be able to see the results in the sample jobs box on the right of the screen. Once you're happy, click 'Save search' to confirm.
