RecruitRank - What exactly is it?

You'll have noticed by now the RecruitRank Top 10 on Jobsite. We get many queries from clients and potential recruiters asking more about why we do it and how it works so we've put together this brief FAQ to answer all the common questions. Should you have any further questions please do not hesitate to give us a call on 0870 7748500.

What is RecruitRank?

Jobsite's RecruitRank is a feedback system enabling candidates to aid recruitment agencies by commenting on their experience with the agency. Agencies can use this valuable information to monitor and improve their own performance and to generate better advertising responses from candidates in the future.

RecruitRank is your new market research tool, revealing vital information about your own customers at no extra cost to you.

And just to give you an idea of how important RecruitRank is to jobhunters - in the first month of collecting information, candidates posted an incredible 20,000 pieces of feedback. Which is just astounding in our opinion.

Why are we doing it?

We conducted extensive research into the candidate marketplace to find out about jobhunters experiences, needs and frustrations. The results revealed a very frustrated candidate base in need of some support and respect and an industry with a poor reputation amongst its own customers. 52% of respondents said they didn't enjoy the experience of looking for a new job, with 50% finding the whole process frustrating.

This has led to us committing ourselves to helping improve the industry from both the jobhunter and recruiter perspectives. Our first initiative was to launch the Jobsite Personal Profiles to help candidates better understand themselves and to choose a company whose culture matches their current life conditions. This initiative could help UK companies save £2.5 billion p/a.

Then we launched RecruitRank to help improve the jobhunter experience of using recruitment agencies and to help the agencies themselves monitor and improve their own performances.

How does it work?

In the weeks following an application to your vacancy on Jobsite, we email the candidate inviting them to leave feedback on their experience of working with you. If they wish to leave feedback, they can complete a short form of four questions and a comment box. Depending on how you score will determine your positioning in our rankings.

What are the questions and why did you choose them?

During our research we asked jobhunters what was important when working with recruitment agencies. The essential criteria that came up time and time again was:

  1. the agency keeping in contact and updating on progress (58% of respondents)
  2. the agency understanding the jobhunter's needs (21%)
  3. the agency understanding the industry the jobhunter works in (12%)

We took these criteria and combined them with their overall impression of the agency to form our four feedback questions.

We also provide a comment box to allow them to elaborate on their experience. This can be quite valuable as it allows you to understand the specifics of where your company is performing well or where more attention may be needed.

How does the scoring work?

Each question has an answer scale of 1 to 5 - 1 being poor, 5 being excellent. It's the answer to the first question - their overall impression of your company - that determines your ranking.

The other answers are for your own use and provide additional information on how you perform against the key criteria.

Averages are taken for all clients receiving feedback and the Top 10 is produced from the 10 clients with the highest scores. This table is then displayed on various pages on www.jobsite.co.uk, including high-traffic pages such as the homepage and the jobhunters' 'My Jobsite' page.

The Top 10 listing will also appear in 'Client Home', so if you score well you'll have the pleasure of being seen by your fellow recruiters.

All agencies listings in the Top 10 will feature a link to their vacancies, further increasing their exposure to site visitors. RecruitRank is very popular with jobhunters, so a Top 10 listing is a valuable achievement for any agency.

Can my agency opt out?

To maintain the integrity and validity of the rankings we do not allow any agencies to opt out. We feel this is a valuable tool for your company to monitor how it is perceived by your own customers and would hope that all our clients use the information for the benefit of their own businesses.

Will you name and shame poor performing agencies?

No, not at all. All we're trying to do is to help the industry improve - from both a recruiter and jobhunter perspective. No company will be named and shamed as we only publicly publish the top performers in the Top 10 - everyone else's score is private to the individual company and Jobsite.

Once a month we'll send an email to your account administrator informing them of your company's scores and ranking amongst our client base. From the email they can link into your report on Jobsite and read the comments left by jobhunters.

No other company will be able to see your score - unless you're in the Top 10 of course! Either way, no one else can view your detailed scores or your comments.

Will all recruiters that advertise be ranked?

You'll only be ranked if you're a recruitment agency and meet our ranking criteria. This is a formula that ensures equal opportunities for all agencies regardless of company size or advertising budget. This enables any company - be it a one man band or multi-national - to be recognised for its high standards of customer care and service.

Why aren't employers ranked?

RecruitRank is only for recruitment agencies as they account for the majority of our clients and consequently the majority of the feedback we receive from jobhunters. In the very near future we'll be launching a version for the corporate market, enabling all Jobsite clients to be ranked.

This is just the first step

Don't worry, we're not just going to give you this information and leave you to get on with it. We'll be working with you to find solutions to the problems you face in your business and hopefully we can help make your work life better.
