5 Blogs Inspired by TruLondon5

It’s only been a few days since the close of TruLondon5 and we have already seen many of the attendees, and those who followed the discussions from afar, write about their impressions of the event and their key learnings.

We’ll be publishing the TruLondon5 whitepaper very soon; in the meantime we wanted to share 5 of the best post -event blogs with you:

Direct Sourcing : In-house versus Agency – recruitment services provider Social Talent provide a neat summary of the debate over who has the best sourcing model…agency recruiters or in-house? With businesses moving some of their recruitment budget away from third party agencies and investing it in more comprehensive direct sourcing strategies it’s an important issue.

Barclays Future Leaders – we saw an interesting case study form the agency advising Barclays on a social recruitment campaign to attract graduates utilising their ‘Future Leaders’ career site. This post from truEvents founder Bill Boorman explains how they managed to reduce volume and increase quality.

Applying Science to Career Sites – during the two days of the event a ‘live lab’ workshop was run by 4Mat to crowdsource from attendees ideas to make the perfect career site. Here they summarise their findings, with some surprising factors showing up as unimportant.

Are our Graduate Expectations Too High? – this is a good summary of the discussion about graduate recruitment, with a disconnect showing through between what companies want and what graduates are doing. There are also some useful stats about how graduates are using social media in their search.

Social Recruiting SciFi – there’s always a fun element to many of the discussions at TruLondon and in this one social recruiting consultant Andy Headworth looked at 15 popular science fiction films to see whether we are already using the technology of the future! Some great memories and insights in this post.

You can see a full summary of pre and post-event blogs here (curated by Martin Couzins, author of the TruLondon liveblog) and catch up on the individual track summaries on the TruLondon5 liveblog.

And don’t forget that you can still watch all the 12 livestreamed discussions here!
