Inside Fratton Park

This weekend, myself and 19 other Jobsite Employees went down to Fratton Park for the opening game of the 2009/10 Premiership season for Portsmouth FC. I was entrusted with Jobsite-cam to capture a bit of footage, and the results are here in my first blog on Insider.

Pompey vs Fulham promised to be an exciting first game, and we were all looking forward to urging Pompey to a home win.

It was great to see the Jobsite brand ‘everywhere’ in and on the stadium, not only on the outside, on the stands and the sponsorship boarding, but loving the fact that Jobsite was on the shirts of the players, staff and supporters and very prominent on the bench and programme.

Jobsite staff get our hands on new Portsmouth FC away kit!

It is perhaps predictable that when a lot of us here at Jobsite heard about the Portsmouth FC sponsorship, one of our first reactions was, “When do we get our free shirt?”.  Cheeky, but you often don’t get much rock and roll action when slamming out the code which powers Jobsite.  Yes, I am a Lead Software Engineer here; pleased to meet you.

Next thing I know, we actually get an invite down to the club to pick up our free shirt!  It was a fun evening, where we not only got the shirt one day before the general public, but were able to meet some of the players and the manager.  Even watching a game you don’t really get the same appreciation of just how athletic they are until you see them in the flesh properly, (clearly I need to be working harder in my own sporting endeavours).  I probably didn’t have as much of the food on offer as I normally would have as a result of this.

Jobsite powers JobsToday from today

A few weeks back we shared the exciting news that Jobsite had been appointed as the official online recruitment partner of Johnston Press plc, one of the leading regional media groups in the UK and Ireland.

The JobsToday sites now have a cleaner look and feel with easier search functionality for candidates. There are also more branding opportunities for JobsToday clients to help their vacancies stand out to job hunters. From today, JobsToday’s local clients have the opportunity to cross-post their vacancies onto Jobsite, which means a wider choice of job opportunities for Jobsite candidates across the UK and extended reach for the JobsToday clients.

The biggest advertising space on the South Coast

On Friday, the main Jobsite banner was unveiled at Fratton Park Stadium, at 50 metres Long and 4.5 metres high I think we can safely say – it is the largest piece of advertising we have ever commissioned! Plus the newly named ‘Jobsite Stand’ inside the stadium was impressively put in place with absailers suspended from the top of the stand!
