Combining Experience

This is a difficult one to manage.
After graduating with a degree in Psychology, I found it difficult to get onto the career path. I applied to hundreds of graduate jobs with no success.
Since that time I’ve had several jobs but nothing that has suited my abilities or was something I could make a career of.
I am struggling with what direction I want to take and how to develop a career. When applying for jobs it is difficult to be specific. By this I mean how do I search for something requiring 5 years experience in ‘X’ when you have 1 years experience in T U V W X Y and Z?

    Highlight your experience in X and show that there are relationships between T U V W Y and Z on your CV. Put X at the top and work through the most relevant down to Z, the least.
    You are effectively creating a skills-based CV, rather than a chronological one, that is more suited to your and your potential employers needs.

    Skills based CVs are all well and good, however, as a recruiter, I want to be able to see on your CV where and when you used those skills. A list of skills is simply not enough to convince us you have sufficient competency in them.
