CV clean up

I have been made redundant twice in the last 2 years and have had difficulty finding new roles.
In between companies i have taken on a number of temporary jobs and my CV is now looking crammed with temp roles which i think is putting off potential new employers.
I would appreciate any advice as to how i should present my CV.

Too Old to Change?

Just started programing using Java. I’m new to programing and I find the whole subject very interesting to the extent that I would like to start a career in this field.
My quesiton is, approaching the age of 40, is it a waste of time to gain qualifications and to try and start a career in programing at my age? I’ll be 43 -44 by the time I get a computer science degree.

Working Relationship

I’ve been in my current job for almost a year & even though I enjoy the actual job itself, I have quite a difficult relationship with my boss.
My boss is not a very good communicator face-to-face & most of the time when you have any work related queries they just get defensive & you’re made to feel bad for asking, but I’ve been told I need to ask more questions recently, so I can’t win! They’re also not very good at supporting you when you have any concerns – they just tend to hide in their office & come back out when everything’s supposedly sorted out.
The annoying part about it is that everyone else in my team think they’re brilliant at their job & as a person & have never got a bad word to say about them, so I’m starting to think it’s me with the problem!
Has anyone else been in this kind of situation? If so, can you offer me any words of wisdom at all as they would be very much appreciated!

Good adverts, good candidates

At Jobsite, we are often being asked what the best way of attracting the right candidate is and my response is always the same – write good adverts. We know this is important just by looking at the stats for applications being received by recruiters – good adverts, good candidates, it is as easy as that. That is not to say that you need to write like Shakespeare, you just need to make sure that the vacancy in question is explained in enough detail and with the right keywords to be attractive to the candidate.

Public Problems

I worked for a large successful private company for 5 years and enjoyed every minute of it. My career path was going really well and I was promoted to a team leader role before the company moved and I could not follow.
I found a job with my local council which was a few steps back from my capabilities, but I thought that I could work my way up the ladder.
I have now been there for almost 3 years and my boss has not given me an appraisal, despite me keep asking. I am a good worker and a secondment opportunity of a higher grade came up in another area, but my manager refused to let me go because she told me I would be letting the team down and to take it as a compliment!
I am furious, Since working here I have found that the jobs I apply for already have someone elses name on it so it is evener harder for me to move up from my Support role into a job that suits my skills and abilities.
I am not sure whether it is worth me throwing it all in and going back to a job within the private sector!!
