Twittering on

I really love checking out new things online keiths-twitter-pageand playing about with the latest gadgets and websites. Some of the things don’t end up resonating with me that well and I usually drop them pretty quickly after I’ve had a mess around. However, a fairly recent favourite site, which doesn’t show any signs of letting up, is Twitter.

I’ve been on Twitter for the last 3 months or so and have really got into the micro-blogging. It enabled me to find out we’d had a double win at this year’s Onrec Awards as the Jobsite team tweeted live from the awards, which I wasn’t able to attend. I’ve also been at conferences and been part of the crowd twittering on about the latest news from the event live as the action happens.

Jobsite launch Jobs by Twitter

Private, tailored job tweets are latest Jobsite innovation to make job hunting easier

Jobsite today announce the launch of their Jobs by Twitter service to help make job hunting easier for Twitter’s thousands of UK users. 1. Understand what you have to offer. Don’t be constrained by your CV. Start with a blank sheet, think about every job and what you liked/disliked about each. What were you good at, what really interested you, what sorts of tasks and activities made you lose track of time? Then think of specific examples that could be incorporated into your CV, covering letter and application.

2. Be very well organised. Know where everything is, both on paper and electronically. You will be able to reuse much of what you write so keep track of every application and your answers to competency-based questions. It’s going to save plenty of time as you can reuse what you wrote and your answers can be revised through a process of improvement.
