Fresh Thinkers in Action! : See Amanda & Scott’s Presentations

The atmosphere is still buzzing around Jobsite UK following last week’s inaugural event in the Fresh Thinking Series. We’ve received really great feedback from attendees, some of whom have already written blogs on how they are going to implement the Fresh Thinking into their own businesses, and we’re certainly looking out for signs of awesomeness!

With so many people wanting to hear the key learning points for themselves, and experience the stimulating and inspirational delivery of Scott and Amanda, we’re wasting no time in bringing the presentations to you!

First up is Scott Stratten with a look at how and why we market ourselves and our businesses, and what we should be doing to inspire customers to share their experiences of us. Listen out for some of his key pointers:

  • Don’t try to have presence without being present
  • If you don’t trust somebody, it’s not a social media issue. It’s a hiring issue. Stop hiring morons!
  • People spread awesome. They don’t spread meh!
  • There is no such thing as a neutral brand interaction
  • We treat potential customers really well, but take existing customers for granted. Renew your customer vows regularly.

Ripe4 Executive Ltd testimonial

The Ripe 4 Group has been working with Jobsite for over 5 years and we have always found their advertising and CV database to be an excellent source of candidates.

Recently, Ripe 4 Executive Ltd, together with Siemens Energy PLC, used Jobsite’s full display vacancies to advertise – dual-branded – our client’s positions within our retained Executive Search campaign. We made a fantastic return using this method and will indeed be back to use Full Display advertising for our up-coming requirements.

How Wide is Your Network?

Forget networking events and online media – the savvy job-hunter casts their net a lot closer to home…

Networking – it used to be a dirty word, despised by many, feared by the masses and made mockery of by a few. How times have changed! With the influx of social media all around us you can’t utter a sentence these days without the word ‘network’ coming into it. Those of us on Facebook or Twitter are constantly developing our social networks and those of us on Linked In and the like are nurturing our business networks almost 24/7.

Or are we? It’s all very well being tied up with this virtual networking, but how many of these become real, positive relationships? How many of your ‘friends’ on Facebook do you regularly see or look forward to seeing? How many of your Linked In partners have brought you any business opportunities? Giving Your Employees a Voice : Day 2 at #FreshThinkers

If the first day of the Fresh Thinking series was all about being awesome and spreading the message, then the attendees at day two were very focused around the practicalities of enabling the people within your business to find their voice and participate in the social revolution. Certainly the questions that were most frequently asked were around social media guidelines and what to do if your company discourages you from using social media platforms.

Scott Stratten started the day on fine form. Everything we do is Marketing he said, quickly getting the audience to focus on who were the people in their organisations who had most contact with customers, the ones on the front line who were the first points of contact and on who’s shoulders the initial experience rested. Quite often it’s the lower paid and least engaged employees. How aligned are they with the meaning of the company?

Most businesses have mission statements, but as Scott pointed out Mission statements are what your customers say they are, and they meet online every day to talk about you.

There was talk of the high percentage of UK businesses who try to ban social media in the work place. Do you have a talking policy? Scott asked…well then don’t have a social media policy! It’s a conversation after all, the main platforms are for talking and sharing ideas and experiences. Continue reading “Giving Your Employees a Voice : Day 2 at #FreshThinkers” »

Capital International IT Staffing testimonial

Capital has been in the market place for 28 years and we have worked with Jobsite for 15 years. They have consistently given excellent customer service over that time. Our dedicated Account Manager keeps in regular contact – not just at the time when the contract is expiring.  This Account Manager invests time to know our market and how we can improve our presence on Jobsite. They freely come to our offices and give regular training to our sales team on how to best represent a vacancy to get maximise exposure to candidates.  You are made to feel of value rather than just someone that will help hit their target. Jobsite is a vital tool to the success of our business and excels above the other main stream job boards that are available.
