Future Recruitment Agency Models
We recently announced our continuing sponsorship of the TruLondon series of events, and today we start our countdown to TruLondon 6 with a look at a topic that has been discussed at every Tru event – the future for recruitment agencies.
At TruLondon5 we livestreamed a discussion between three recruitment business owners who all use very different models. You can watch the discussion below. The participants were:
- Julia Briggs – whose business Intermity is a new, community based recruitment business in which specialist HR interim roles and HR interims are sourced through the community.
- Elkie Holland – running a more traditional, service-led consultancy within the IT area, and finding social technologies enabling her to strengthen business relationships
- Steve Ward – who has guest blogged for us before and who owns Cloud Nine Recruitment, a business focussing on placements within the social media and digital space, building reputation from being a specialist at the centre of his sector
During this lively debate, look out for some key talking points:
- (1m, 50s) Why it’s so important to get recruitment right
- (4m, 20s) How Interimity works, members of the community recommended and accredited for behaviours and skills, with future members and clients being crowdsourced
- (7m, 30s) Elkie explains how new technologies enhance what they’ve always done – traditional recruitment with quality and service first
- (10m, 05s) Steve believes the future is niche, that recruiters need to sit in middle of their specialist industry sector and understand (and partake in) what their clients and candidates do. Looking (by action) like them, not looking like a recruiter.
- (12m, 35s) Importance of being a fulcrum, a thought leader and go to person within your niche
- (17m, 15s) Why you should employ experts and knowledgeable practitioners as consultants
We hope you enjoy the conversation – we’re sure there will be more like this at TruLondon6! There is still time to join us – you can find out how to book your tickets on our dedicated TruLondon page. And remember, using the code ‘jobsite’ will get you a £25 discount.
Over the next few posts we’ll bring you guest blogs from some of the TruLondon6 track leaders, plus more from Julia Briggs on how her experiences as a client and candidate helped shape her ideas for what the future recruitment business should look like.
