How has the recruitment market changed?
Our quarterly review of the
changing attitudes and behaviour of job seekers and business confidence in the recruitment market is now ready for you to download.
This latest report, run by our brand tracking agency HPI, shows a slightly different picture to that of the last quarter’s report conducted in February.
Some of the key findings include:
- There are more companies recruiting compared to February, with significant growth in the number of SMEs currently advertising vacancies.
- There is a dip in the total number of vacancies being advertised but this is on trend with usual seasonality.
- The appointment of a new government causes an element of uncertainty which sees recruiters being cautious in their recruiting practices and in turn their expenditure on resourcing.
- Online job boards are the first port of call for people looking for a new job.
- There’s been a return to tried and tested recruitment and job hunting methods with dramatic declines in the use, or planned use, of social and business networking sites
- Job seekers continue to spread their net wide, with the majority of people registering with more than one job board. In contrast, the multi-use of job boards is in decline for recruiters and they prefer to use one or two.
- Both recruiters and job hunters are looking for a simple, ‘no-frills’ service
