Jobsite announce gold sponsorship of Social Media in Recruitment Conference

Helping recruiters utilise new channels to make their jobs easier

29 March 2010 – Jobsite are proud to announce their gold sponsorship of the Social Media in Recruitment Conference. Taking place on the 22nd April at the British Library in London, the conference will help delegates understand how they can utilise social media to recruit more effectively.

In its second year, the conference boasts speakers from leading brands including Google and LinkedIn, who will lead discussions on the new opportunities social media presents to recruiters in promoting their company and vacancies. Topics include:

  • Strategies for using LinkedIn as part of your online recruitment plans
  • Insights from Google to help you recruit using social media
  • How to maximise the use of Facebook as a recruitment tool for your company
  • Key strategies for using Twitter effectively in recruitment, including the use of automated tools
  • How online communities can play a part in your social media recruiting strategies
  • The legal issues surrounding social media and employment
  • Social media strategies for Generation Y job seekers
  • Plus, there will be a Social Media Interactive Discussion Panel

The inaugural conference in 2009 saw over 150 delegates across in-house HR departments, recruitment agencies and recruitment advertising agencies attend. A selection will be returning this year to share what social media strategies they have implemented as a result of attending the conference.

Mike Taylor, Director of Web-Based-Recruitment, who organise the conference says; “We’re thrilled to have Jobsite on board as gold sponsor, particularly as they share the same sentiments as us that social media is only worth doing as part of a wider, well planned strategy.

“With over 150 recruiters looking to attend it’s a very encouraging sign for the industry that its professionals are looking to embrace new ways to recruit. We look forward to working with Jobsite and to welcoming the attendees and speakers for what promises to be another fantastic social media conference. ”

Felix Wetzel, Group Marketing Director of Jobsite, adds; “Social media is a hot topic but the danger for brands is that they jump on this bandwagon without a clear idea of what they want to get out of it. We’re sponsoring this conference as it focuses on helping recruiters understand what social media channels are right for them and how they can best utilise them to achieve their recruitment aims. We’re following this same philosophy at Jobsite and have recently launched social media activity which helps us perform better for our candidates and clients e.g. our Jobs-by-Twitter service. For us, this is when social media is most powerful.”
