Jobsite returns to TV in October
October is the month when Autumn generally really starts to set in. As the evenings get darker earlier and the temperature falls, the best place to be is often curled up in front of the TV. This makes it an ideal time to advertise via this media and from Monday 3rd October to Sunday 30th October, that’s exactly what we’ll be doing!
Where we’ll be advertising
You’ll be able to see our ads across both terrestrial and satellite channels around popular programmes such as X Factor, Coronation Street, World Cup Rugby and Champions League football. In fact, during the four weeks that our ads are showing, over 39 million adults will see them an average of 5 times. Pretty amazing!
Previous success
We’ll be running the four adverts that were on TV in January as well as introducing two new ones. We know that the ads we showed back in January went down well as they resulted in:
- The highest number of applications we’d ever seen in a day
- Record breaking numbers of visitors in a day
- A place at number 6 in Marketing Magazine’s weekly Adwatch table of most remembered adverts, alongside brands like Tesco, Gillette and PG Tips
The Power of TV
Returning to TV next month is also pretty special as it marks the third anniversary of our TV advertising launch. Before our first venture onto TV in October 2008 we had 500,000 CVs in our database for recruiters to search. It had taken us 13 years to build up that number but with the support of TV the number soared to over 2.5million in less than 3 years. We’re not about numbers for numbers sake but this is probably one of the most powerful stats showing how effective and far reaching TV advertising is.
To provide you with an idea of what TV advertising might achieve next month, these are the results we saw when we advertised last October:
- 2.2m unique visitors
- Over 900,000 apps
- Over 100,000 new people registered with us
- Over 110,000 CVs were made searchable
To put this in context, all of these metrics were up circa 25% on what we saw on Jobsite the previous month (September 2010) when we weren’t advertising on TV.
Reaching candidates outside of TV
As effective as TV is though we never just advertise here in silo. Alongside this we’ve also got heavyweight digital activity, print advertising across national and regional newspapers, our O2 Partnership and PFC Sponsorship. In short, if you manage to go through next month without seeing us somewhere we’d be amazed!
We’re keeping our fingers crossed that we can beat the records we set in January (we like a challenge). We’ll keep you posted on how the campaign does and let us know if you like the two new TV ads when you see them.
