Listen to the Recruitment 3.0 debate!
Last week we broadcast the second show in our HR Happy Hour Europe series, which showcased a lively and somewhat controversial debate around the topic of Recruitment 3.0! Our special guest was Matthew Jeffery, author of the definitive article that gives Recruitment 3.0 its name and he had ample opportunity to both explain his viewpoint and deal with callers who wanted to challenge him.
The debate over the future recruitment landscape is one that has been gathering momentum over the summer and we were keen to bring it to our clients and partners. The Recruitment 3.0 vision is founded on 6 principles:
- Not everyone is looking
- Psychology of people
- You are not in control of what people are saying about you
- Everyone is a potential candidate or brand ambassador, even your consumers
- Employment brand is pivotal to success in talent acquisition
- Building relationships and communities is key
At its core it is about companies building engaged communities, telling a story, listening, discussing and sharing, hence fostering an emotional attachment with potential new talent, who will then spread the word and become ambassadors for the business.
Much of this will be enabled by social media. The platforms provide a perfect way to engage with your potential audience and to keep them with you. In Matthew’s words ‘it is not about immediate bums on seats but to take them on a journey. People will board at different junctures but by the time you reach the destination the goal will be to have people who either want to work for your company or be brand ambassadors’.
These and many other ideas were discussed over the course of a one hour discussion that fairly flew past, and we can certainly recommend clicking on the widget below to listen to the show…
Will you be able to use some of these strategies in your talent acquisition? Let us know what you think…
