Poll results: public to private sector

Our September 2010 poll* asked ‘Do you think it is easy to move from the public sector to the private sector?’

The findings show that 41% of you believe job hunters will experience some difficulty in making the move from the public to the private sector, with a further 31% thinking you’d need to have some training to help you make a successful transition.

This sends a clear message to the public sector that departing employees need support in making this transition. Future private sector employers must also be flexible when introducing ex-public sector staff to their businesses.

*Survey base: 510 participants, September 2010.

  • Disgusted Job Hunter

I am feeling really angry and depressed at the moment, as I have trying EVERYWHERE for a job – in both sectors – but it’s always one or other response of the same old story: you either don’t get a reply or you get rejected. I can’t even get a temporary Christmas job in any of the Liverpool stores, that’s how bad it is!
