My work placement at Jobsite
My name is Anthony Packer and, like my colleague Nick,
I’ve been on the “Premier League Into Work” course run by the Jobcentre and Portsmouth Football Club. They are helping people like me and Nick to get back into work.
I’ve just finished my 2 week placement at Jobsite’s head office in Havant, and was working in the Business Intelligence Department as an Analyst, where I assisted with collecting data at Jobsite and entering the data into spreadsheets. It’s not something I’ve done before, but that’s one of the advantages of being put on a placement, you can try doing something that you might not have thought about doing before and it gives you opportunities.
I enjoyed my time at Jobsite, the people I worked with were very friendly and helpful, they gave me plenty of advice on looking for work and gave me some websites and contact details of people who could help me, Marcus on my team recommended me to Vane Recruitment Agency, as he got his job at Jobsite through them; I have a meeting with them this week, which is good news.
I would like to thank Jobsite, and the Business Intelligence team I worked with, for the opportunity to work with them and the help they gave me, but I’d also like to thank the people who run the course at the Pompey Study Centre for helping me build my confidence and get me back into a routine.
The course is voluntary but I would recommend it to anyone in the same situation, as I feel that I have benefited from attending this course and have done things I would have never tried before.
