JOB TITLE: CAD Design Draughtsperson- Solidworks

LOCATION - Basingstoke Hampshire

SALARY: up to 26000

Our client is located in Basingstoke in Hampshire and are looking for an experienced CAD Design Draughtsperson- Cad system used is Solidworks.

CAD Design Draughtsperson is required to design and detail new, modify and improve existing products in accordance with the Design Process QM006.

Salary is up to 26000 plus benefits


CAD Design Draughtsperson duties will include:

* Receive and catalogue Drawing Office Requests.*
* Where applicable follow project stages on the Design Summary Form
* Using SolidWorks design new products and components.*
* Limited use of AutoCAD and Mechanical Desktop to update older drawings.*
* Modify and up issue drawings requiring changes in accordance with the Design Change note (DCN) system.*
* Check and provide approval to drawings through the Meridian drawing management system.*
* Issue and plot hard copies of released drawings. *
* Where necessary ensure that there is liaison with the Development Engineers, Production Engineering and Bill of Materials to update the relevant BOM's and procedures. *
* Attend Design Process meetings and reviews as required.*
* Liaise directly, or in conjunction with Purchasing, with suppliers to arrange specification of components, prices and delivery time scales.*
* Ensure accurate product specification details are communicated between design personnel and the staff responsible for bill of materials structure listings and part number creation.* In conjunction with Development Technicians advise Production Engineering of jigs, tooling and assembly procedure requirements as a result of prototype build.*
* Oversee Production of first build of new products / modifications.*
* Visit suppliers to asses their technical capability to meet our requirements and to discuss specific projects as required.*
* Demonstrate and discuss drawing office facilities and equipment to visiting customers.*
* Provide new and existing product/equipment training to other personnel and customers.*

The successful candidate should be qualified to at least HNC or equivalent level in a mechanical engineering discipline.

You should have a practical engineering background - ideally having served an apprenticeship plus have a flair for industrial design.
And have experience within Solidworks.
