Product Support Engineer / Draughtsperson
Our client is a world leader in the design and manufacture of subsea equipment for the oil & gas industry. They are seeking a Product Support Engineer / Draughtsperson to join their team in Aberdeen.
Description
The product support engineer / draughtsperson will be part of a multi-disciplined engineering. The product support engineer / draughtsperson will be responsible for addressing production and service support issues, and vendor quality issues, on parts, assemblies and drawings associated with existing products and where necessary product upgrades.
Responsibilities
1. Investigate the production/service/quality issues and engineering change requests with the product or part and implement solutions to the problem which involve the minimum consequential effects on other assemblies and products - whilst dealing with complex parts, assemblies and detailed drawings, and exploded view drawings in Solidworks.
2. Detailed checking of drawings, for dimensional accuracy, tolerances and presentation.
3. Preparing the mechanical drawings and text for each product's operation and maintenance manual.
4. Interaction with mechanical and electronic engineers to ensure that parts, assemblies and drawings are correct.
5. Production support of new build drawings associated with customer specific drawings and assemblies.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements
1. Diploma qualified in Mechanical Engineering.
2. Very competent in the use of 3D CAD software.
3. Conscientious, thorough and meticulous in detail.
