Mechanical Design Draughtsman

You will be part of a small multi-disciplined team of engineers that designs remote controlled electro-mechanical and hydraulic products that are used in harsh environments.

The mechanical design draughtsman will be responsible for the modelling and drawing of both new products and upgrading existing products and taking a design from concept to final assembly.

Responsibilities

1. Modelling of parts and assemblies and production of detailed drawings and exploded view drawings in Solidworks.
2. Checking drawings, for dimensional accuracy, tolerances and presentation.
3. Interaction with mechanical and electronic engineers to ensure that parts, assemblies and drawings are correct.
4. Assisting technicians with new builds to ensure that parts and assemblies, and stock details are correct.
5. Dealing with internal and external non compliance of parts and engineering change notices.
6. Interaction with purchasing/stores/production/quality departments to ensure that parts and builds are as per the design.

Qualification Requirements

Diploma qualified in Mechanical Engineering.
Proficient in the use of 3D CAD software.
