CAD Design Engineer

Our client an International Automotive Supplier are looking for a CAD Design Engineer who will be responsible for carrying out all phases of assigned projects, to support divisions and external customers. This will involve constructing 3-D CAD models, technical drawings, engineering calculations and report preparation. The engineer will also be required to program manage all aspects of design projects and work closely with other members of the team as well as other departments, including supporting analysis, testing and production activities. Key Responsibilities:lead the design and development of engineering contracts and R&D projectsDocument and record design activities in project filesCreate CAD models and engineering drawingsPerform engineering calculations to prove design conceptsParticipate in DFMEA activitiesConduct engineering and design reviewsInitiate analysis and test requirements to support designPrepare technical reportsAttend customer meetingsRequirements:High level of interest in automotive engineeringStrong personal motivation and willingness to work extended hours on challenging projectsCollege or university degree in a relevant engineering disciplineKnowledge of computer aided design toolsGood organisational, communication and technical writing skillsWorking knowledge of industry standard Windows applicationsMust be able to work independentlyMust hold a current passport and be able to travel as and when requiredDesirables:Experience with CATIA V4 & V5, CadKey or KeyCreatorExperience in an automotive and/or motorsport environmentA desire to participate in group activities and develop good employee relations.
