CAD Operator

We are looking for an experienced CAD Operator to join our Leeds based client on a permanent basis. The main function of the role is to assist the Design Team in the creation and maintaining of drawings from conception through to 'as installed 'status with duties as deemed appropriate to the skill level/experience of the assistant.

Duties will include the following
·Ensure duties are carried out in line with company standards relating to Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental issues
·Ensure the relevant procedures from the Company Business Process Manual are adhered to in relation to Draughting and Design issues.
·Contribute to the training of junior operators and trainee draughtspersons as appropriate to skill level/experience
·Inputting the following types of drawings in line with relevant standards under the supervision of Engineer and/or Designer
o General Arrangement Drawings
o Schematic Diagrams
o Electrical Layouts
o Electrical Sections
o Earthing Layout
o Interlocking drawings
o Cable schedules/core sheets
·Assist with preparation of and inputting the following types of drawings in line with relevant standards under the supervision of Draughtsperson
o Wiring Diagrams
o Termination Drawings
o Steelwork Drawings
·Modification of all types of drawings to include updating in line with client/site comments. This will include updating the associated information held in the Document and Drawing Management System
· Creating final 'as installed' CD of drawings for issuing to client, including updating information held in DDMS and creation of document transmittals from DDMS
· Assist in the preparation of drawing packages for issue to client, manufacturing facility and/or installation department
· To be proficient in the use of the following software packages
o 2D Aotocad
o GTX ( for scanned images)
o Elecdes ( as experience dictates)
o DDMS (Document and drawing management system)
· Assist design team with the following
o Plotting
o Printing
o Scanning
· Assist with other design duties as deemed appropriate to skill level/experience
All candidates must have high voltage sub station experience.
