Mechanical Design Engineer

Mechanical Design Engineer required, Solihull. Girling Jones are representing a leading, multi technical services provided seeking an Mechanical, and Electrical Design team based out of their Solihull office. You will be working within their western team delivering in house design services as detailed below in Solihull and Bristol on adhoc occasions.

Reporting to design manager, you will be required to work independently on mechanical design alongside your Electrical counterpart with duties as listed below:

Mechanical Design Engineer

• Reporting to design manager.
• Working independently.
• Able to produce designs suitable for RIBA stage 2 through 5
• Produce Contractors Proposals based on Employers Requirement Documents
• Produce specifications and schedules
• Capable to producing schematics using Autocad.
• Capable of preparing basic layouts using Autocad.
• Design to a budget utilising value engineering and best/current technological practices
• Identify change and advising client/site team.
• Have a practical knowledge of the design they are asking someone to install to - i.e. some idea of special co ordination.
• CDM awareness and reducing residual risk
• Client facing and able to work within a design team.
• Aware of sustainable design and BREEAM pre requisites
• Building Regulations awareness
• HNC Building Services minimum
• Hevacomp proficient
• IES knowledge/awareness (i.e. thermal modelling)
• Public Health

What you'll need to succeed:

• HNC Building Services as a minimum
• Full UK driving licence
• Proven history (3 years +) of design utilising Amtech with intermediate AutoCad
• Full UK driving licence
