DIO is part of the Ministry of Defence (MOD). We play a vital role in supporting Defence by leading and managing the delivery of what the Armed Forces need to live, work, train and deploy on operations. Our people share the common goal of supporting our Armed Forces through management of the military estate.

We are currently looking for Quantity Surveyors to be part of a team who deliver key contracts and relationship management in support of UK Military Capability. The Quantity Surveyor roles represent an ideal opportunity for you to expand on your experience; supporting major programmes, contracts, and hard and soft facilities management services.
DIO is looking for individuals who are able to drive continuous improvement, and who will take responsibility for ensuring that all processes and operating procedures are adhered to. You will be expected to build effective relationships with various internal and external stakeholders and provide functional expertise to support the wider business. The role will involve a variety of tasks in which you will ensure the development of functional best practice.
As a key component of DIO's in-house construction expertise, our Quantity Surveyors provide the DIO intelligent client interface with Industry in relation to cost management, continually exploring ways to improve the whole life performance of the estate in connection with facilities management and new-build capital projects. DIO's vast portfolio of assets includes everything from complex infrastructure, such as airfields, dockyards and training facilities to the more conventional buildings required to meet the working, living and domestic needs of our service and civilian personnel. Delivering and monitoring Quantity Surveying and cost consultancy services you'll have a broad range of responsibilities, including estimating, benchmarking, tender evaluation, risk analysis, audit and assurance, policy development and the provision of costing and procurement advice to a wide range of stakeholders.
If you think you can add value to DIO, providing a quality service as a Quantity Surveyor, and delivering outputs in line with departmental and organisational objectives, you would be a great asset to DIO.
It is desirable that you would be a Chartered Member (Quantity Surveyor and Construction) of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS/FRICS). A full UK driving licence is preferable. You may be required to travel to remote sites.
