Role Description

Purpose of the Role

The role holder will support the financial governance and operational control framework of Aviva Health UK. Health Finance own 11 Business Standards, 28 Risks and are responsible for maintaining Direct Debit and Credit Card compliance within Health's business processes. You will provide effective monitoring and administration of the risks and control environment and perform investigations as necessary. You will act as a point of contact for both the Finance and wider business teams, providing support in breach identification, logging and reporting whilst maintaining systems with up to date information. You will be responsible for developing plans and audits to monitor compliance across business processes, investigating and maintaining accurate records, reporting findings and monitoring actions. You will also be required to support and / or lead on project work directly with key stakeholders in other areas of the business, ie Risk & Compliance

The role will report into the Governance & Control Manager

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support to maintaining Aviva Health Finance risk monitoring framework across PMI, iPMI and outsourced activity
  • Support to maintaining records relating to the business standards, risks and breaches on the i-care system
  • Support development and generation of reporting for purposes of monitoring control activity and respective issues and actions
  • Support project activity of major operational control and regulatory projects
  • Support and manage regular process reviews identifying weakness and leading change initiatives where applicable
  • Maintain understanding of the BACS rules and Credit Card Compliance, keeping up to date with amendments and impacts on business processes
  • Assist in developing audit plans and carry out audit activity and monitoring of action logs
  • Support maintaining other Risk & Governance requirements
  • Effective relationships, developing and maintaining internal and external customers
  • Provide administration support for Finance related governance ie, Business Standards, Risks, Financial Reporting Control Framework, Business Impact Analysis and general adhoc activity

Skills & Experience required

  • Experience of working in a Finance Department
  • An understanding of Finance and operational processes
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Assertive and positive in approach
  • Ability to perform with little supervision
  • Use own initiative to progress investigations, report issues identified, suggest proposals and deliver objectives
  • Planning and organising
  • Attention to detail is essential
  • Professionalism
  • IT literacy including I-care / Excel / Powerpoint/Word/ GMS/CAS/OH+
