My market leading client delivers a range of hardware, software and services. Due to their company growth and success, my client is looking for a Head of Sales Support to lead the sales support team who are responsible for supporting the field sales account managers in liaising with customers on a wide range of issues - production of quotations and the provision of pricing and sales collateral to name but a few. The Sales Support Team Leader role is to directly lead and develop the Sales Support Team and continually strive to improve the quality and value of the services offered to the sales team and the customers alike. This role will report directly to the Sales Director but the effectiveness and scope of operation will be regularly reviewed with all sales managers.
The role will be fast paced, varied and challenging and requires an individual who can learn quickly, is highly motivated and a self-starter. It is vital that the successful applicant exudes a highly professional manner, has a 'can-do' attitude and leads by example.
The key requirement is to deliver high quality sales support to the companies field sales based account managers and their customers alike. This will be measured by the key KPI's covering response times, quality and accuracy of material produced and effective compliance of company CRM systems.
Duties & Responsibilities:
*Planning & organising daily workloads and ensuring all activities completed in a timely fashion
*Day to day leadership and optimisation of the Sales Support Team to deliver against the business needs
*Delivering high levels of support and service to customers and colleagues alike
*To lead by example, being able to undertake all sales support roles directly themselves and as such, to undertake these roles as required to meet the company's expectations
*Ensure the company Contact Management System is up to date and with relevant client information, including relevant address, telephone and contact information
*Ensure all customer related Sales Support activities and communications are updated in the CRM database
*Take ownership and responsibility for all requests from field sales support.
This will include liaising with other departments as required including Order Processing, Customer Services, Accounts, IT and Professional Services. While the resolution of the support request may lie with other departments, responsibility for overseeing the request through to completion is a key requirement of the role
*Requests for information from many sources must be responded to quickly and effectively. An excellent ability to prioritise a number of tasks in order to meet strict deadlines is a pre-requisite
*Connect with relevant managers and leaders in the business to understand how to evolve the Corporate and Sales Support function
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
*Experience of operating in a high intensity sales support environment ideally with some previous level of supervisory responsibility
*Good organisational and planning skills
*Good communications skills with colleagues, customers, suppliers, and partners alike, including the written word and on the telephone
*Ability to multi-task and work to deadlines
*Proactive, outgoing and confident
*Able to perform under pressure and to tight deadlines
*Excellent attention to detail
*Good time keeping and reliable
*Responsible attitude and polite manner and have the drive and ambition to achieve a high standard in all you do
*Motivated and ambitious to achieve a high standard for the team in every respect
*Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook and Microsoft Word and Excel
Credentials & Experience:
*Experience in team leadership or similar supervisory position
*Previous employment within a sales environment
*Thrive under pressure and be a powerful influencer and motivator
*Minimum of five GCSEs or equivalent, to include English and Maths
