      Sales Manager (Home based)

      35k - 40k pa + Bonus structure of up to 10K| Leeds| Permanent

      My client, a major manufacturer of metal fencing for over 100 years, based in the North East of England are looking for someone to join their senior management team. The role will be responsible for commercial sales development and growth in line with the company's strategic business plan. You will have budgetary responsibility for meeting sales objectives including operating income, gross margin, new account and segment penetration and overall customer satisfaction. You will be expected to lead the sales process with the business development and pre-sales teams developing an effective business capture strategy for new and existing business. You will ensure that opportunities are commercially and technically qualified through the sales pipeline as well as contributing to the overall business strategy. The role is home based with extensive travel within United Kingdom and management of the external sales team. You will be expected to have regular physical contact with the company HQ.

      Leading the company's sales team, you will have experience dealing with complex procurement processes along with in depth understanding selling and marketing to the manufacturing sectors. You will be formally sales trained and have a proven track record of implementing, managing and reporting sales pipeline and opportunities using recognised sales methodologies

      Main Responsibilities:

      Sales / Commercial / Customer Service

      • Delivery of company's budget and business plan
      • Personal oversight and involvement with key account relationships with end customer, resellers and partners
      • On-going development and review of the business plan
      • Involvement and development of a product roadmap to satisfy market segment needs
      • Monitor visit, call activity and sales pipeline in line with business strategies

      Marketing

      • Co-support and help drive the marketing and branding of the company at networking, partner industry focused events
      • Monitor, evaluate and report on competitor positioning and identify and implement strategies to convert their customer base
      • Ensuring business deliverables are in line with marketed deliverables
      • Promotion of key differentiators and promotion of our capabilities and value-added services

      Management

      • Significant interaction required with executive team to achieve consistency in relation to business structure development & process development
      • Promotion of continuous improvement culture throughout all teams and supporting business activities
      • Responsible for the definition & development of new business processes and ensuring adherence to existing processes
      • Define and develop the working relationships with the management team to ensure clear lines of communication and ownership of specific tasks are undertaken and implemented
      • Line management responsibility for sales function to include timely provision of appraisals, training and development
      • Co-ordinate reviews with the management team covering forecast, orders, competitor analysis, development pipeline and general activity

      Communications

      • Generate & present monthly reports to the management team providing information on current status and future expectations of business activity relating to adopted strategies
      • Ensure implementation of an accurate monthly status reporting process which can be issued in a controlled manner to stakeholders
      • To represent the company at regular business reviews and provide relevant data for review
      • Ensure communication processes (KPIs / metrics) are implemented that are consistent across all functions.

      Minimum Qualifications/Experience Required:

      • Relevant degree together with a professional or management qualification (e.g. MBA, DipM or equivalent)
      • Proven experience in Sales Management Role
      • A level of technical understanding / competence
