      Location: Home based covering the area served by Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, Basingstoke
      Salary guide: PT/FT - £23k to £25k PA (Pro-Rata based on FT)

      CHS Healthcare/Carehome Selection is an expanding company providing an independent tailor made service throughout the UK; we support patients and their families as they face important decisions about their ongoing care after leaving hospital.   Since 1995 we have built a reputation as a trusted specialised and patient focused service finding suitable care home placements and care packages most appropriate for their loved one.  Our staff come from many different backgrounds including healthcare, social services and sales. We also employ solicitors, home owners, police officers and office managers - what they all have in common is a genuine ability to build supportive relationships with clients, the drive and determination to achieve and strong administration and organisational skills.

      We are looking to engage self-employed advisers to assist families in their search for a care home for their relative in Basingstoke and the surrounding area.

      Self Employed Adviser - Core Duties and Responsibilities:

      The main function of an Adviser is to act as the supporter for a family needing to find a care home for a relative who is in the hospital and to give them all the assistance needed throughout the process.

      You will liaise with patients or their families as directed by your Coordinator within a given time to arrange an early appointment.

      At the appointment you will present details of the CHS service, confirm the needs of the patient, obtain any further preferences from the family and then accompany them on visits to potential homes.

      You will then liaise between the family, the care home chosen and your Coordinator in order to ensure a prompt and appropriate discharge.

      You will be working within a small team and at all times you will be directed and supported by your Coordinator who will be managing all of the necessary liaising with the Health professionals and in appropriate cases with the Social Worker.

      Hours of work can be flexible and depend upon the amount of work currently referred to us; however we are unable to guarantee any set number of hours.  In order to meet the needs of the families we work with, some evenings and weekend work is necessary.

      Although you will be self-employed we will be finding all of the work for you and there is no expectation that you should do this yourself.

      You must have your own computer and ideally an iPad tablet for displaying portfolios to families.  You will be expected to accompany families on visits to homes and therefore will ideally need the use of a 4 seater car.

      A scanner for scanning documents into our database or a printer/scanner capable of doing the same would be an advantage.

      A healthcare background is an advantage; however, your interpersonal skills are more important to this role, which is based on organisation, liaison and communication.

      This is an ideal opportunity for part-time, flexible work covering Basingstoke and the surrounding area.
      Many of our employees are of graduate calibre, most with 5 GCSE's at A-C level and above. Ideally, we are looking for individuals who have pushed themselves gaining other relevant qualifications, for example B-TECH, NVQ'S or Higher Level Professional Qualifications.

      Remuneration is based on a two-stage fee - one for the initial appointment and one for successfully finding an appropriate placement; fee levels will be confirmed during interview.
      A full time equivalent worker doing this work for us can expect to earn a salary of £23k to £25k.
