Team Leader - Rail Vehicle Light Maintenance - Eastleigh (Southampton)

Arriva TrainCare are currently seeking an experienced Team Leader for our Eastleigh depot near Southampton. We are a successful, rapidly evolving organisation with a strong order book for 2017 and beyond.
We provide Light and Heavy Train Maintenance services to the railway industry from five strategically located maintenance depots. We are part of Arriva, part of the Deutsche Bahn group, one of the largest transport services organisations in Europe, employing over 55,900 people and delivering more than 1.5 billion passenger journeys across 15 European countries every year.
Team Leader role and purpose:
You will be responsible for managing all depot operations, rail vehicle light maintenance activities and personnel on site. You will lead a team of Technicians, delivering a high quality, high value rail vehicle light maintenance service to our customers. In the role you will be expected to work in accordance with our customer's maintenance instructions and company procedures and processes. You will also play an active part in continuously improving product quality.
You will be a skilled individual who has served a recognised apprenticeship and ideally, has relevant current rail industry - rolling stock - experience.
As well as:
- Prior knowledge and experience of rail vehicle light maintenance activities and depot operations.
- Good educational standard (BTEC or C&G in Engineering) with very good mechanical / electrical engineering knowledge.
- Previous people management / Team Leader experience
- Able to interpret engineering drawings.
- Awareness of health, safety and environmental requirements.
- Understanding of production efficiency techniques.
- Hours of work: Average of 40.5 hrs per week, shift roster
