The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting both the Metallurgical and Quality groups within Lincoln. This would involve taking responsibility for metallurgical projects such as new product introduction... and Quality Managers with non conformance disposition and route cause corrective actions, there will be significant customer interaction dealing with customer visits and audits, as well as some opportunities to visit customers at their facilities which may involve occasional overseas travel. Candidates should possess a degree or higher qualification in metallurgy or materials science/engineering, ideally with forging or aerospace experience. The Metallurgist will be responsible for all Processes / Production, Quality Adherence, Metallurgical Testing, Reporting and Documentation, in relation to the Melting of Iron. The Metallurgist will also be required to take part in departmental meetings and provide Metallurgical assistance to internal / external parties as required.
